Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers
.

"THE FORCE THAT THROUGH THE GREEN FUSE DRIVES THE FLOWER" by Dylan Thomas in this poem Dylan Thomas uses Metaphors to describe his life as he is getting older and becoming a man. The force that drives the water through the rocks Drives my red blood; that dries the mouthing streams Turns mine to wax. And I am dumb to mouth unto my veins How at the mountain spring the same mouth sucks.
